An iPhone 5S can boost its MEMS microphone by +10.00, which helps capture ambient sounds, but the battery is limiting and can't schedule recordings.
Need a small mic (Edutige?) and a way to boost it (DAC/Amp), preferably using the USB port of a single-board computer like the Raspberry Pi.
