Hello everyone I am new to posting on the forum though read it regularly, i am hoping someone can suggest a fix for my problem. I can also record the noise described and put a link to it if needed.
thanks. I have a feeling the tubes are the problem, I'm hoping notbecause of cost

Mesa 2/90 triaxis noise
I have had the pre for about 2 yrs and the 2/90 for about 3, i have never changed the tubes i use the correct cables (balanced/unbalanced)

i have the unit in a skb case and routed the cables neatly circling the back of the case and tried to cross cables at 90 deg angles

the case also has lexicon reverb, power conditioner, tuner.

The Question???

Noise? I seem to have what i consider normal expected static low in the background, feedback is controlled without much effort, but i have a louder static sound that is electric sounding, not really static , cables are new, i have also noticed my amp getting noisier or a dirty underlying distortion sound and a bouncey sound when pluking strings???

do my tubes need a change, does my equiptment need to be arranged in a specific order, should i clean it(dust). My knobs on the power and pre amp crackle and i've heard that elec. sound on the pre amp by itself, I believe the power amp is to blame for that bouncey sound.
help???thanks

process of elimination

Gut feeling ...your tubes are probably shot. However, it'd probably worth taking your rig to another location to eliminate the possibility of wiring/electrical problems in your house. You have a power conditioner which helps a lot, but they don't correct for everything.

If you've heard the noise on the preamp by itself, then there's your next look. Try swapping out for a different preamp (any preamp) to see if that's where the problem is coming from.

Good idea. Try this: Turn the power off and spin the pots back and forth completely for 2 minutes. This will temporarily move the pot sludge out of the way and give you a clean path. If that significanly helps, then clean the pots.

Sometimes the aerosol can be a pain because the pots don't usually have large holes to spray in, but it's worth the effort.

sprayed the pots

yup, that took care of that noise and i hear the other clearly, I thank you all and think I need to spend a few bucks on some tubes as mentioned, and keep it a little further from the computer/TV/stereo/walkie talkie etc... thanks .
