Audio quality from Laptop to Behringer UMC 404 very poor

Yeah it's just rather quiet and normalizing should do the trick i guess, which is not too big a hazzle and quality wise should be fine for our needs id still be curious why this would happen from a technical standpoint, if anyone has an idea!

I can only think of 3 reasons why you are getting very low signal...

1) There's a issue with the cable.
2) You have the headphone out gain set incorrectly.
3) You have the Behringer set for the wrong type of input.

I don't know how strong the output of your Apple is vs the Gigabyte. You could try listening to the same track on each with a pair of headphones and see if there is a difference in the level. That should eliminate #2.

Go through things step by step and you should be able to nail it down.

@TalismanRich Thanks I'll try it next time I'm there. Headphones sound great on both apple and gigabyte though
