lol thanks for all the help i think you nailed it i sold 1 preamp already but i think im gona sell this one someone should be using it for what its made for.
Im just kina lost i dont know what pre amp to get.
i have had a digitech 2101 2120 and line 6 pod pro, mesa studio pre, any sugestions on a good preamp for me i got a mosvlave 962 power amp and just need a good preamp to go along with it!!!!

I thing Mesa makes more 'modern' (read: NuMetal) pres now for what you are looking for.

I'm using a Mesa Quad preamp into the MosVale 962, and I really like it. BUT, I'm an 80's metalhead, not a "Nu-Metal" guy...

I am pretty sure all those guys use Rectifiers... I don;t know if they have a preamp version of that line of amps... try the <esa website...

If not, sell all the other stuff (including the MosValve), and buy the real thing...

HERE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT LESSON!!!.... BUY THE RIGHT THING NOW!!! DON'T WASTE $$$ OVER THE COURSE OF YEARS W/ CRAP (MODELERS, ETC), HOPING TO EMULATE A SOUND YOU WANT, TRYING TO SAVE MONEY.... YOU WILL SPEND MORE OVER THE COURSE OF TIME ON THE CRAPPY GEAR, AND LOSE THE USE OF THAT GREAT SOUND YOU REALLY WANT WHILE YOU'RE AT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TRUST ME!!!!!!!!!!

Actually it is distorting since it makes it larger. That is changing it. just like compression is distortion too....but thats for another day.
Amplify: To make a waveform larger.

Distort: To change a waveform.

My credentials?? BSEE/Summa Cum Laude

I like you anyway, and would be honored to buy you a beer one day.... :D

Seriously though, Outlaws gave the right advice.
Take care guys.... I'm off to do some hot-tubbing w/ the wife and a beer...

If it was perfectly making larger, then you win. But when has a guitar amp ever been glorified for its perfect reproduction of the original signal? Only two come to mind. The Roland JC120, and the CBS Fender silver glad poopsickles. ;)

If it isn't in one of those two catagoies, it distorts the signal. :D Otherwise I think more gear sluts would be using HiFi audiophile equipment.

Just my opinion of course.

Actually, neither fo those amps have THD specs of 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000%, so you're wrong (Theoretically) there too.... ;)

Outlaws, I get what you're saying completely, and you're right... Kind of... :D

Take it easy 'bro, I gotta get my hot-tub suit on.... (Gotta get naked...)
