Manley Voxbox? Anyone?

Does anyone own a Voxbox? General thoughts? I don't know if I'm completely sold. I've been messing with a loaner for a couple weeks. Gorgeous on some sources, sucks ass on others. Agree/disagree?

And what version do you guys have? The extended gain/headroom one or the older one? I hear that makes a big difference, and was one of the main complaints about the originals.

I couldn't tell you the version I have used but I noticed it was darker than some other preamps they had in the studio inlcuding the pair of 1073 they had.

Referencing the U87 through it. I didn't get a chance to try much else so I admit my experience is limited.
