I have some mic's that are broken and instead of
sending them to sennheiser of shure to be fixed
I thought 'let's ask the pro's on homerecording.com for
some info'.
I think the mic's elements are broken. Since I already
got new mic's I'm hoping to make some experiment-mic's. Mic's that sound very out there and that I can use for recording psychedelic or lo-fi songs.

Maybe some weird-sounding element?

Go to Radio Shack and buy any mic that comes with a cord that has a 1/4 plug on the end. Spend no more than $10. Scream directly into the mic. :D :D

Seriously, It sounds as though you have nothing to lose by playing around with the parts you have. Perhaps test them on the cheapest equipment available though.

Yeah, it's a good idea. then you get some education on how the mics work..(which is always good) however like the other post said...USE IT ON CHEAP CRAP FIRST (so you don't break anything.....happy mic building

Are you saying that you want to build a mic from old parts or just build one in general?

actually I am up for anything
I still have some parts
was wondering if I could have some fun with them
learn something new, instead of throwing them away

if you have any suggestions, I'm happy to hear them

thanks
