Magnets: How careful should I be?

Today I put a tape on top of a monitor(speaker, not comp mon.) and then thought of the effect it will have on my tape, if any, since speakers have magnets in them. And what about dynamic mics, they have magnets in them etc. How careful do I want to be with this kind of thing?

Just keep ANYTHING magenetic away from magnetic media storage. It's that simple!

This is purely from my own experiment so treat my info accordingly. I have 2 tower speakers, bought about 15 years ago. Good, big, solid wooden speakers. I passed a magnetometer around one of the speakers and noted strong magnetic properties when I was very close to the front of the speaker and more specifically the woofer, midrange and most notably the tweeter above. When I placed the magnetometer on top of the speaker cabinet, however, virtually no magnetism was present. I think your tapes will be fine but don't do it again, ok ? ;)
