I got my Mackie mixer, hooked everything up

I've got a nasty hum in the left channel .

Here's everything I did so you'll have a head start.

Changed speaker wires, hum still coming out of left main,

Unplugged monitors, hum still in headphones.

Turned down all the Trim controls and mixer faders, still have a hum

Unplugged everything from mixer, except headphone, still hum in left channel,

Plugged into different electrical outlet still has a hum,

Now, for the best part, the hum will go away if you push down the "L-R" on channel 1 or
if you turn the Mains down all the way...

Any ideas?

From your brief description, a brief diagnosis --- there is a crack in the main circuit board under the pan pot for channel one. Take it to a Mackie service center for confirmation of this.

Thanks I talk to the rep at Mackie, Sweetwater is replacing the mixer as we speak...
