Tyler,

You have to remember that the "sound" you hear from any monitors is going to be very much influenced by the room (acoustic environment) you listen to them in.

I have "worked" with one of your above choices and found them to be TOO bass heavy.........BUT the owner of them has since relocated and in his new rooms they sound fine.

That being said, you should have realised by now, that if The Bear recommends/suggests something, that you can bet money on it being a valid recommendation.

JBL LSR25P

Great monitors... (IMO)

but, listen to ausrock, and go listen to the monitors....

some stores will let you bring home a pair and try 'em which is even better, cuz then you're hearing how they sound in YOUR space, not the showroom.

I already know that. I'm not making all of my decisions based only on this site. I want to hear peoples opinions. And my opinion is that those KRK's suck.

Everybody keeps telling me that! Except I want bigger ones. Also, I want to spend MORE!!! HAHA

Then, my friend.... I guarantee you haven't actually heard them! Because while you may not subjectively care for their sound , the one thing they don't do is suck - period.

I suspect you've never actually auditioned them and are only echoing something you read by Rip Rowan.... which is a dubious choice of engineering heroes, I'm afraid.

BUT - Ausrock and Queue are absolutely right -- no one's opinions on monitors matter one bit... it's YOU that has to like them and work with them........

then step up to the LSR28P, and add the sub (forget the model number)... that'll set you back a few $ :D and they're much bigger!!!

(hope you have a big space to put these babies in...)

Maybe, but, they may be too much if that price isnt for a pair.

What... you want to put far or mid-fields in your bedroom????

Get real Tyler - are you just trolling now or do you really not understand monitoring? I suspect a bit of both..........

They're not for my bedroom. Im gonna convert my three car garage.

Same issue... how big is your control room going to be? It better be damn big to accommodate far-fields........

Is your garage going to be all control-room and no tracking space? If it isn't, monitoring with far-fields is going to be an issue..... if it is, where are you going to put the musicians???

so...

how much of that garage will be the control room?

Sorry Queue, bears are faster than they appear to be! ;)

BTW Tyler - won't mommy and daddy have a problem not being able to use their garage to park their cars?

enough space for a two screen computer, mixer, a couple of racks, a medium sized desk, and two mackie 824s and the mackie sub

Its okay, I'll just sell their cars and buy some more sound stuff

Definitely too small for far-fields or even mid-fields..........

Stick with something no larger than the KRK V8s or the Mackies, (or Events, or Yammies, etc)........
