Here's what I want to do. I want to be able to record the church service using the board they are using now which is a maskie 8-buss. So can somebody please tell me the correct way I can do this...

I want 22 channels to go from the console to the hd24 from channels then 2 to the hd24 for the final stereo mix. So I will beable to record then later mixdown the session to the HD24. I have looked at the stuff on mackies webpage but the B-mix or whatever it is isn't clear to me. Please tell me what I should or or some ideas, tips..ect..

Thanks

This is the live FOH board not a console only for recording*

You can patch each channel from the Mackie, which has channel direct outputs to the HD24. Then the outputs of the HD24 to the LINE/TAPE ins on the mixer.

This is exactly how I use my HD24XR...well not in church but for recording. Set up the song to be 24 tracks, then use tracks 1 - 22 from the line-outs on the Mackie to the "INS" in the HD24. Use the Main Mix (L & R) to go to tracks 23 and 24. I then use the "OUTS" to go into the boards Tape Ins. You can pan 23 and 24 hard left and right to check your stereo mixes that way. Be sure to have those channels dry though for play back...
