Mackie 24•8 Studio Console: Does it use the VLZ pre-amps?

Anyone know whether the Mackie 24•8 Studio Console is fitted nowadays with the VLZ pre-amps? It's difficult to tell on the Mackie site if it does or not. I know in past posts here (around a year or more ago) I have read that the 24•8 and the 32•8 weren't fitted with the VLZ pre-amps.

Just wondering as I'm close to getting one and the prices look good on eBay, however, when it says that the mixer is three years old it makes me wonder if I'd be purchasing a mixer with inferior pre-amps to what I would get by purchasing one new.

I went mixer shopping today and asked this very question. The Guitar Center employee didn't know so he called a Mackie sales rep and put me on the phone. I was told that the 24-8 does not have the XDR preamps but has a preamp they refer to as the "classic". Hmm.....
I still am looking at this board though!

The Mackie 8-buss boards are definitely workable.... I do suggest though, that you pickup some good outboard pres.......
