Uhhmmm dude.... did you forget to take your little white tablets this morning?

I'm still very confused. Please help me out.
I've read that Motorola has problems with their processor. They say they're not able to speed it up annymore i.e. it has reached it's limmits. If this is so, what now???

Pissed7378????

Hellohoooo..............

What'd I say??????

I'm just wondering will Apple then switch to Intell or AMD???
Just a thought.
Imagine, you'd be bored to death, no more discussions.......

I have an alternative.........................
Apple could apply DSP's directly on the mobo!!!!!!!!!!!
Well???
What do you think pissed7378?????
Not bad for a childish lame brainwashed PC freak. Is it???

Fan_Tc isn't scary....

He just thinks he is smart because he can type.

I can type so I am ?

Less typing = more music making.

I hear ya DeadPoet......

Hey it was a joke....I have just witnessed Fan_TC shooting his mouth of on more than one occassion. Usually on stuff he THINKS he knows more about than he actually does. Maybe its just his attitude that skews what he says, which is a shame. In particular, if he actually has something worthwhile to teach.

I hear you too RichHead

We were just fooling around so please read the full thread.
And I needed the posts to get to 100. :p

BTW. which threads??

Back to topic... Pisces, I'm not so sure about that "Intel are general-purpose" thing. Isn't SSE a whole set of instructions designed for multimedia? And I know that one of the prime benchmarks for a processor is 3D video games, which use a lot of processor power.

Also, I think that if this was the actual design goal, the Mac would get better performance (e.g. more tracks and plugins) than a comparably-priced PC, and we know this is not the case.

One other thing: if I was a Logic user and Apple offered me a Mac for $700, hell yeah I would take it. But a lot of these people have PCs as the center of their studios, and do not want a dual-CPU solution. They would lose a huge investment in software and hardware, and to people like that, a $700 computer is not going to make up for the thousands they will leave on the other computer... or that one "killer app."

My best example of this is a friend of mine who produces in LA. He uses Logic on a PC with FruityLoops VSTi and Devine Machine VSTi, two PC-only plugins, as his main production system. Changing to a Mac would not help him one bit; his main system has just become obsolete. So changing over to Cubase SX was a necessity, not a "personal choice." As a working electronic music producer, he needs to know that his software will always be supported, bugs will be fixed, and new features implemented. I know you agree with me that Apple really made a brutal decision to drop Windows support, but I'm just pointing out the kind of scenarios it caused.

Anyway, I love my Mac, I love my PC. If you can have both, and find justifiable uses for them, they both rock.

I can't believe I just posted in a Mac v.s PC thread. I must be more bored than I think...

Why don't you pm me? We can go over it......instead of wasting everybody't time here.

I must admit yours is the first objective post in this thread.

The problem with my dual system is that the software uses one CPU for mixing and the other for recording. So many times one processor was barely used whily the other was over 90%. So my experience with a dual system has not really impressed me. I've read that a dual processor will only give you about 20% extra performance.

And it is a fact that Motorola has problems in speeding up the processor. So I really honestly wonder what will be Apples next move....

I visit many forums but there are just as many PC as Mac users with problems.

I have a PC and I use a Motu. I've heard a lot of users say that Motu is better supported for the Mac. But now with the new Mac OS lots of people have problems because Mac has changed a lot in the OS. I don't have a Mac but that is what I read in the forums.

I personal think the discussion having a Mac or a PC is useless. I mean it's verry hard, if not impossible, to get a real objective discussion.

I'm happy with my PC. But I do admit a Mac looks great.

Oh sorry, I wasn't talking about "Dual CPU" like the new dual-processor Macs. I meant, having two CPUs for your studio, one Mac, one PC.

oh
ok
But do you know anything about the next move from Motorola vs. Mac??
I really am interested and not sarcastic.
