Looking for a XLR barrel connector

3 pin male to 3 pin female, I can't seem to find one anywhere (Yes, I'd imagine they're usually pretty useless)

I want one to try reducing the input impedance on my mixer to see how it affects the sound of an SM57 (Apparently it vastly improves it), and I'd rather not use one of my patch leads (for several reasons). Any ideas?
 
You wanna do some kind of mod inside it?

I duno if you can get them, but you could get an inline pad and mess with it if I understand you right.
 
Yeah, that's exactly what I was meant. I was hoping to get an empty one, but something like that doesn't look too expensive either. Thanks!

Edit: That looks like it may indirectly do exactly what I want, actually XD
 
Guess it depends how you define expensive, but you could just build an adapter with a male XLR, female XLR and a short piece of mic cable. For experimenting, you would not need to use expensive parts. $10 or so?
