Is it possible to have Logic controlling a Fantom X7?

I am having a hell of a time for years trying to figure this out.

I have a sound I wish to use on my X7. I am using a Tascam FW-1082.

I am able to control Logic with my X7 perfectly fine.

I have the MIDI in and MIDI connected to the keyboard properly.

Every function on my Tascam works fine as well.

Do I need to set the X7 to be 'controlled' somehow?

What I am trying to accomplish is to be able to set up a composition in logic using the piano roll on a midi track and then do some work on the notes such as quantizing, velocity,....ext and then have those notes sent to the X7, and record the audio coming out of the fantom into logic as an audio file.

Alternatively I can set up the notes within the fantom and do the work in there, however, without a mouse and the small screen it is very time consuming.

Any help is greatly appreitated! Thanks!

You can set up the Fantom as a MIDI slave in the general preferences.

Have you actually done this before? And is this the only way to get this to work.

Also, how do you send the MIDI signals out of logic to the X7?

Ive read all I could read and it doesnt seem to explain this topic much in either Rolands manual or Logic.

Thanks!

I have not controlled my Fantom with Logic - that's not part of my setup. However, I make the Fantom a MIDI slave to my TASCAM 2488 for clocking. I'm assuming that you would have to do the same to have the Fantom respond as a slave to any device.

Set the Fantom to recieve MIDI on whatever channel and select that port/channel as the output in Logic.
