Last night, my friend Bruce drove many miles to run the recording board for a live recording at my regular saturday gig, at the blue heron inn, located in duncans mills, california. It was an unusually slow and quiet night. The club only holds about 30 people.. There were about 10 people there. This place is so cozy. People pull up chairs and really listen, dance and interact. This was really fun night for me. Douglas McKenzie is on the bass guitar, and I am on my 1 man band. Life is good! Walter

Here is some of the songs. These are from the final of the 3 tapes we used. there is still 84 minutes to mix. My head is a little spun, so I hope they sound ok I will be mixing the others tomorrow.

EH pre's are on the vocal/harp mic, the guitar amp, and the bass guitar. the other 2 mics - bass drum, high hat, are run through the preamps in an alesis board. The songs were recorded at 16 bit on an old black face adat recorder. We pretty much recorded blind, with no real sound check, just place mics and record.

I listened to Work With Me Tonight. The vocal/harp back-and-forth is excellent. Man, all those high notes are nailed. Sounds to me like you've got the instrumental balance worked out just right Walter. Lyrics ramble a little, but they're improvised, so kind of unavoidable. EQ's well balanced to my ear, dynamics are realistic. :)

I've already listened to most of your page before. I love this, man. Your music is awesome. The real thing. Great feel. Listening to "Cocaine is a bad Friend"...A little more up tempo than some stuff I've heard from you. Love it.

(I put absolutely no importance on rep points, as I hope you do too. But I can't figure out why anyone would give you negatives for your music. I'll try to change that red chicklet to green...lol)

Dude....399 songs? I think you've got Rami beat in the recording department... :D (sorry Rami, had to say it..)
Listening to Cocaine Is A Bad Friend....Cool tune. Your musical skill is beyond comprehension. There are many one man bands on this site, but we don't play live, and not ALL the instruments at once. That is just amazing.
Back to the tune. This is well recorded, and the playing is great. I have listened to some of your other stuff, and you do a nice job.

Listening to Work With Me Tonight....Man, good recording. Still has teh live feel, but very good mix. And shoot...you have to be a poster child for ADD....you have to be busy doing all this. Good tune. Well done again. Enjoyed the listen...
