I think that is as good as it gets. One thing, the voice is a unique. Never has been one like it and will never be another. Everyone can say that. Everyone.
Yeah a voice can be unique, but what happens with voices is once one gets famous, there are hundreds of copy cats,
singers in the 70's were different than the singers of the 80's and on and on, it cyclical, some voices are no longer valid in the music world, others havent been found yet.
As far as production, it always amazes me that todays musicians and producers havent realized that all they have to do is do new versions of say, beatles songs, and all those great SONGS from the 70's and not need to write the crap they are writing,
and if it sounds current, it will be accepted as current. And best of all,m the kids wouldnt even know they are covers.
Hard to imagine some artist not doing well recording "hotel california" if arranged and produced to todays liking
