Lights on the fret board?

I recently saw a bass that sam from lb has on his bass and beyond it looking kewl, it seemed kind of practical in low light (I have problems going from low to high with out getting lost..)

And ideas on how it is done? Getting lights on top of the fret or replacing the inlays?

I think its just little LEDs put in the fretboard in place of traditional position markers
