I recently switched my internet connection from ISP ethernet modem to my android phone as a hotspot. This has greatly reduced my download speeds, but not too bad. Most things I download aren't that large and still move at a good pace. However. .
AmpliTube 5 CS has a recent update from 5.7 to 5.8.1 which is some 2.9GB. The easiest way to update is via the IK Product Manager - this makes an online connection to your Products at IK. This connection is used to download, then install the update so everything is done in one swoop. However. . [I like using that word]
I could not get through the update via Product Manager - it would download extremely slowly, then it would drop the internet connection and stop. There was no way to proceed or reconnect other than to quit and begin anew. I spent many hours doing so to no avail. Then I contacted IK Support. . .
They suggested I go straight to their IK website and then My Products. There I could select V5.8.1 and manually download it. I did this and finally made it through a full download. It still went extremely slow, and the internet connection was dropped about every 15 minutes, BUT . . this time there were pop-ups advising of the lost connection along with a button to Renew the connection. This happened about 8 times throughout the download and I just kept hitting the Renew button until it was completed.
Since I wasn't in the Product Manager, it did not self-install, so I had to move the .zip folder into the correct folder with the older versions, then open the Product Manager, scroll to my AmpliTube 5 CS 5.7 and once again hit the Update button. Then it saw V5.8.1 in the correct folder and automatically launched the installation, which went fast and without problem.
The End.
