Lights on my mackie board are always on?

The first two sets of lightson my 1604VLZ are always on, no matter where the volume is set or if anyting is plugged in. Anyone know why this would be? Occasionally the left channel will cuts in and out, but I don't think this would have anything to do with it.

Sounds like you have the infamous "ribbon cable" problem associated with your model and others by Mackie. Go to their website http://www.mackie.com , click on Contact and call them on their toll free number. At one time they were replacing the defective cables (they are inside the mixer) and you only paid for shipping. I'm not sure if they're still doing this. Can't hurt to call them as it'll only get worse.
