My home studio...very comfortable (esp when the lava lamp is going and the lights are dimmed-it's all about the mood, baby!). This is my control/mix area (1st pic) then I have an iso booth to the side (pic 2).

You have a very nice set up! I love the vocal booth.
 
Thanks for the positive comments. The booth is a 7'x7' whisperroom that I installed in 2003 and it works great for my applications. I know some people don't think they are worth the cost, but I have not once regretted that purchase. Plus, I just don't have the skills, tools, or time to try and build something like this myself. It also looks very nice/professional in person (many remarks from people I've worked with). But yeah, I love my set up. My next addition will be a pair of small diaphragm condensers- I don't know, maybe the NT-5's. The Neumanns are too expensive, but maybe. Anyone want to give a recommendation? Their main application would be acoustic guitars (for my stuff, a Taylor 810e and a '58 J-185-really different sounding instruments). I've been using a kiwi, ntk, and a pair a akg's for this application, but I think SDC's may work better.

mix at any idea? super loud or average?

also what kind of specs do the bushes in the front have??

That's not an excuse to water-down the definitions.... Events monitors with a Behringer mixer in the corner of a room is not a Mastering Suite by ANY stretch of the imagination.

i been searching for that optimum spacing.. distance vs speaker size..
just a curious gearhead....

5-6-7" monitors 3-4ft apart seems to be common
8" -?? looked like your Events were 5-6ft??

I dont recording anything in my room. I record from the direct outs (pre-fader, pre-EQ) of my Midas Venice 360 during live performances.

I mix on the TR8's. The TR5's are for alternate listening.

Perhaps I should have put 'mastering' in quotes :)

The Behringer was free, and doesnt do anything except give me someplace to route the output of the AP2496 before the TR8's.

It's not really a 'studio' like you professional guys know, it's just a quet room.

Really excellent performances... the recordings aren't quite up to par, but still sound decent (you have some sibilance issues - the top end is a bit harsh - the low-end is muddy and slightly boomy - overall mix is very thin-sounding) - without hearing the hi-res version, it's hard to tell if it's just the lower bitrate of the MP3s - 96Kbps, or the recording itself....
