Cool shade of blue...it reminds of my room. What is the color called? I used a Glidden color called 'Jazz'; not because of the name, because of the shade...warm and blue.

It's actually a dark plumb. If you hit it hard with the camera flash it becomes an extra gay shade of purple I wouldn't recomend it I have to be very careful never to wear a leather biker cap and get my picture taken in front of this wall.

The blues coming threw the window.

Gotcha. I was looking at the bottom right of the photo. I see the plum between the treatment toward the top.

You may want to check out Ralph loren paint (I think thats the guy). They sell it at the home depot. they have very cool stuff like swede, metalic snakeskin and other things. It's not cheap, it's alot of work & you have to get special rollers etc.

We did our living room in chocolate swede and it makes you want to pet the walls Word of caution though. It's not kid friendly, does not hold up well to abuse.

Well, after watching this thread for a couple of years (has it been that long?) I decided I would "get on board", so to speak...quite a few changes here over the past few years, analog board is gone, 3 racks of outboard down to 1 (better) rack, number of mics downsized (but quality of those left/replaced is up)...studio is always in a state of "almost done"...guess I shouldn't have let anyone in until I was finished, being that: a) I'm a procrastinator and: b) my live work really cuts into my spare time....since I do all the construction work (which is really not my forté) things have a way of being "left for another day" ....anyway, here it is.....BW, Pinederosa Studio

Vibro Champ....mid 70's silverface, gets used "quite a bit" here...these and Deluxes are my favourites for studio use (cleans/semi OD)

Not in the pictures is a Mesa Boogie Mk1 Reissue (blonde) that gets plenty of use as well....just got a new Orange Tiny Terror and I have to say...wow !!!

These were just a design I found somewhere, and then "slightly altered"....wanted to give the flat walls in both the control room and the main studio a little "curve"....added the same thing (sort of) to the ceiling at the back of my control room, which seemed to help "clear" the bottom end buildup (slightly) in a spot where clients would normally sit...probably could have dealt with it in other ways, but I decided to try this, partially from an "aesthetic" standpoint, as well as from a "sound" treatment stance. If you need details just PM me, pretty simple stuff really if you've got "minimal" wood skills, a chop saw and a table saw came in handy. Thanks, BW

That's just a perfect desk.

Get yerself some thick curtains and you're halfway there. I got 18 sheets of 4x2x2" OC 703 -type material for $120 or so, so treating that room shouldn't cost ya too much.

That rack is great. I grabbed some huge racks from work that were on the way to the dump, only to find that the rack rails were drilled all unevenly.
I've considered using wood to replace them, as the rails I find online won't fit.

Looks like you have wood rails for your gear-- what size of wood did you use? are the units just screwed in with wood screws or is it predrilled and used with bolts/nuts? Thanks again

Ah yes, the five knobs give it away. I think the Champ only had three, and the Vibro had two add'l for speed and depth of the tremolo or something like that if I remember my Fenders correctly. I have a Super REverb reissue, and the tremolo is superb. My former JC-120 was a great amp, but the tremolo was a joke, as well as the 'distortion' (but man the chorus was beautiful especially in the stereo configuration of the amp!, but sacrificing it is what bought the Fender r.i.).

I dig the 'natural' look of the pine accents. Very warm-feeling look to it all.

No need if you have a circular saw. Even if you don't, you can buy one for cheap and you can DEFINITELY use it as a handy tool for other things. In other words, it's like a screwdriver set...you will use it someday. Buy a cheap $3 metal blade for it (the smooth, round, fibrous-looking blades at a hardware store) and cut it to the exact shape and length you need. I did this for my rack rails on my desk and rack rails for a modified Raxxess rack (cut down the height recently, photos coming tonight hopefully). Real easy to do, though, just have to put up with the smell of burning metal. Takes about 15 seconds per rail cut. If you're in an apartment, you can easily do it outside in the commons area, if in a house you should already have a circular saw and get one already if you don't.
