I hate to say it, but there are too many times that I can identify with that scene! I'll put everything away, and the next time I want to do something ... POW! Cords everywhere, stands, guitars, mic boxes and amps strewn around the room. Then I run out of time and have to leave and it all sits.

I don't even have a commercial setup... just a home hobby.

I call this 'Object Overload'. Perhaps your wife can tidy the place, Rob.

Cable mess drives me nuts.
Bought a few patch panels and that helped a lot.
But sometimes rebuilding is also fun.

My wife refuses to even come to the office - I've been away since November, on my return - my home studio has become a store for all the stuff she hates making the house look untidy. Boxes, childrens toys, suitcases, and piles of summer clothes!! I can't even get through to turn the kit on!!!

That’s quite a mess - I would go insane if I stepped into that room - I’d also go all OCD and clean everything up.

What a great space you have, Scott.
I know it is only a garage. You have to be well-off to have a double garage in these parts.

Nice to see you’re still going strong on the analog stuff, and that you’re still alive! lol. Hot gear there!
Thanks, I wish I had a better room but I’m making do in the garage for now. I have to stay as much analog as possible. I use my computers more like tape decks and mix out of the box through the board. I do processing in the box, but it seems like the less I do processing wise the better it usually sounds.

iirc you were the first person I heard mention Harrison Mixbus. I bought it coming up on a year ago. Haven’t been doing much producing but I will be sometime soon and looking forward to doing a full project in it!

It’s great. A lot of Nashville mixers use it. It’s cheap and their customer service is great. Had I not spent nearly a grand on Protools I would just use Mixbus. Their analog consoles are fantastic and their daw emulates it.

Newest photos of my studio. Not a lot has changed but I wanted to make the space more comfortable for just enjoying being in there, not necessarily working on anything. Plus as much as I love my tube amps, I never gig and I rarely play loud, so I upgraded (?) to a Spark 2 with Cab and a nice wine/bar cabinet from Menards to display my pedals.

Way to be economical with the space you have! :thumbs up: Nice stooge, sir.

I've been extremely impressed by everyone's studios. I don't have enough room for my analog stuff, never mind the digital gear and computers.
But I would trade it all for a good engineer to give me the freedom to just play.

The knitted oven mitt looking cloths over the acoustic gtr sound-holes... is that to minimizes the guitar from vibrating from room sound? Or what?
