Learning Bass! Love Lenny Kravitz...how do I get that 'sound'

OK. Here I go again. I LOOOOVE Lenny Kravitz. Bought a bass and am now on a mission to learn every Lenny song. Anywho. Just finished learning Are you gonna go my way (solo included). Recorded it to see how it sounded. OK. No huge mistakes, could use some more feeling...but not horrible and I stayed on beat...anyway...i have NO IDEA how to tweak knobs, any Lenny sound quick fixes you experts have?

I WISH i could figure out the guitar, been tryin' for years, but those extra 2 strings mess me up every single time. HAHA!!!
