Latency issue question

I am attempting to do some home recording. I have laid down a couple of tracks. The tracks are not syncing up together. I have a Creative Labs Audigy sound card and a 866 mhz computer and am using cubasis vst for the mixing.

Any suggestions would be most appreaciated.

On my Cubase for some reason there is a skip right out of the gate which causes a sync problem. What I do is wait a full 16 count before I record the first track and then it doesn't have an adverse effect. You can also move the tracks to line them up. You have to change the little snap window from bar to off to get it precise.
