Hey guys,
My wife caught site of the Korg Oasys and fell madly in love with it.
Question I have is,
Has anyone tryed or bought one?
Is the 16 track recorder goood and usable?
does its power outway its price?

Should we buy one?

I'm between it and getting a Korg D3200 and a Triton Extreme........

Any thought and info are thanked for in advance.

For that kind of money you really have to *need* exactly what the keyboard has to offer. Otherwise, I personally would go with a less expensive keyboard and either a computer recording setup or a dedicated hardware recorder like the one you mentioned.

Hey SonicAlbert,
Yeah your right on the "really have to *need* exactly what the keyboard has to offer" Part.
Were were looking at it as station in our studio setup but after we visited GC today we were less than pumped about it.

My wife did fall inlove with the Triton Extreme and the Korg D3200.
So along with a Music Man Stingray bass we will be buying that setup.
Its mostly for her since I use a PC alot.

Thanks for your insite!

I think you made a good choice... the Oasys is impressive from a features standpoint, but I always get nervous with devices that do "everything but the kitchen sink", b/c all it takes is one small accident (oops... the Oasys just fell out of the moving van) or act of God (who forgot to plug the Oasys into the power conditioner?) to pretty much wipe out your entire studio.

Good call on the Triton Extreme, too... I've been using a Triton (now known as the Triton Classic) with the MOSS expansion board for over 5 years now. I have yet to find a tone that I can't get out of it, and I know there's still a lot of capability I'm barely taking advantage of. I debated trading it in for the Extreme, but I'd lose too much $ on the deal, so I'm running it through a Peavey Tube Sweetener to add in a little tubey goodness on demand.

I use a Peavey Tube Sweetener as well. Great on some stuff and not so great on others. I've found it does very nice things for sampled strings.

The Triton Extreme is a good choice. The whole Triton series has had a lot of different variations over the years, but it's a real workhorse synth and I'm sure you'll get a lot of good use out of it.

Hey guys thanks.

I owned a Triton Classic for a while but I needed money so "Bye Bye Triton".

Hoping to get one soon.

Thanks again.
