Just ordered a pair of Wharfedale Diamond Pro 8.2a's, they should be here Wednesday. I hope I like them, *crossing fingers.* If not, I'll pay the $15 to return them...
Room acoustics play a HUGE part on your listening enviroment. $100,000 monitors in an untreated room will still sound like ass, expensive ass at that
The wharfedales were my first nearfield monitor aswell. I noticed a HUGE differece from the step up from old Hi-Fi speakers but I also started to hear the limitations of my room. I've currently stripped the whole place out and am in the middle of constructing outside in walls, bass traps, slot resinators, etc. Do a search in the studio building and dislay forum or have a look at the SAE site under acoustics.
