Just got my C3...

I tried to stay away from this one... but I am sorry you had to go through all of this. And for what, buying one of my C3's! It is really unfair for you, and it is really unfair for me. This is one of the first times I can say that I am shocked at some of the replies made by this group. I would think you would not want to give any report on the mic, be it good or bad for fear of another attack.

This is not about the mic, despite some people in this thread who really want to hear about the C3. This is about a total disrespect of me and you, and you do not deserve it. There are many on this group who I consider very good people, and they all know who they are. It is a shame even one would accuse you of being a Studio Projects plant, for that I am embarrased it was ever mentioned :o

No matter what the outcome of this thread, welcome to HR, and thank you for becoming a Studio Projects owner. Please stick around...you will get to know the good ones that care.

You know in about a month the B-series is going to hit the streets and I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy a B-3.The first thing I'm going to do(after I play with it)is to post my impressions of it.I'm sure that many good people will be interested in those impressions and the rest of you can kiss my fat white hairy ass!!:D :D :D

In my opinion the only plant that matters burns nice and slow and taste sweeeet....

I would be very interested in what the B3 sounds like.
I would LOVE to hear how people like the new tube mic in the b series.
I hope everyone will post their impressions when they get one.

Ive had my B3 for a year now and it rocks. So Alan are you really bringing back that old Hammond standby? Mines an old one made in 68.:D

Really, I have 1958 B3, and its mint...the organ that is :D

The mic is another story, I love my B3 so much, I named the mic after it.

I mic my Leslie cab with three mics. I use two mics in stereo on each side of the top cabinet for the horns, and one mic down low by the woofer.

I have not used the B3's for that, but they should work very well for it. I use two Sony C35's for the horns, and a C1 for the low end woofer. I spread the image very wide on the horn, and the effect is great.

The only B3's (mics) I have are the prototypes, and they are all different with different capsules and electronics, so I do not have a pair for testing. The actual units we received for testing are at the Beta Houses, so they have had more application use then I have had :mad:

C'mon Alan.Lets have the B-Series already!I'm twitching already for a B-3.I was at Spectoar's store when he got his C-3 delivered and damn is thet an impressive looking mic.I can't afford a c-3 right now(gotta pay off some of my toys)but if the b-3 is decent for a street price of $149 I want one.The only condensers that I have are an AT3525(I like this mike),an Mxl2001p(I hate this mic),a pair of Behringer ECM8000's,and a cheap pair of Nady SD condensers.A multipattern LD would fit into my budget locker well.

They are done, but it is Chinese Lunar New Year and China is closed man. When they re-open, I will get the final samples in the new boxes. Once approved, it is 3 weeks for delivery, so in March for sure on the B Series...maybe end of March, but we are only 6 to 7 weeks out and they will be in the stores.

I am just as anxious as you are.

Thanks Alan,I guess I'll just tough it out.I usually hate to be one of the first ones to try a product but I think in this case I'll make an exception.I'm sure it will be decent but if for some reason I'm dissatisfied you can be sure you'll hear about it!!:D
 
I'm disappointed this thread hasn't continued. It was beginning to take on a life of it's own.

I've read a lot of books that weren't this good.

Oh yeh: I just got my C-1 in the mail. I guess I was expecting a miracle. It did a great job mic-ing may acoustic guitar, but my voice still sounds like s**t.

Oh well, you know what they say, "Garbage in, garbage out".

The real test will be when I get someone who actually has a decent voice to try it out.

Then I'll publish my great review, and Alan can send me my check.
