Just got my C3...

ahem....hello,
I just got back in and checked this site...whoa, I know I'm not really responsible for all this but I can't help feeling...well a little responsible for this. It seems as if this has been brewing for some time. Sorry for any slip of bbs etiquette I may have done but here are my thoughts. I am new to this but have been recording for many years, have many clients, many different genres of music. I am no where near the league of guys like harvey but I aspire to be one day. I want very much to sponge up all info I can and this seems like a great rescource for that (harveys posts on mics and polar patterns was like a great meal). As for laying low, I'm torn. Part of me thinks it would be a sign of respect to older members to do so (only because I was told that in not so many words) another part of me instinctually rails against censorship of ANY kind. So...I'm just going to do what I want. If I feel compelled to throw my two cents in I'm going to, not out of spite but because it's my right to do so. That being said, I will try to be juditious in how often and about what I throw my 2cents at. For you folks who dissagree w/ that all I can say is look for my name on the posts and avoid them. Now back to the matter at hand; My session went way late last night and I only got to try the C3 for a few minutes (in studio time that translates to aprox 1 1/2 hrs) so I can't really give an educated opinion yet. Got a couple of sessions this weekend in which I'll try to put it to good use. Thanks for the support for those who came to my aid on this thread and for the others, hopefully over time you'll see that I am no spammer and that my aim is true.

BTW, Tom

If Alan used the title, PMI AUDIO Senior Technical Support, would he still be a spammer?
A lot of companies, instead of having technical support, use their SALES dept. to answer technical questions.
Seems the fine line between tech support and sales is very fine, indeed.
Please explain to me the difference when you represent your company on this board and when Alan represents his?
Thanx,
Carmen

for the record if i ever used to word "spam" to refer to Alan, it was in jest, as i love that word....spam,spam,spam.....

anywho, i just had a opinion that him posting about products that are in direct competition with his is a conflict of interest.....if "Mr.DBX" did the same, i would think the same of him.....i never saw that happen (but im not saying it didnt).....

and for anyone interested in joining the Alan Hyatt fanclub, send me a new C1 (with the rolloff and pad)....for a junior membership, send me a B-1.....for a GOLD membership send me a v67G:D   :p ;)

I don't think that anyone meant any harm. I think that you just stepped into a bad argument at the wrong time. I certainly think that everyone would welcome you posting in the future.

Can't resist...

CarmenC, normally I would love to answer a question like yours, but I have a better suggestion;

CarmenC (if that is your real name:D) Rub the magic search engine and all will be revealed to you...

When I first posted to this group as a "newbie" in March of 2001, the first thing I was drawn into was a war about the Guitar Center Oktavas versus the Sound Room Oktavas. That got pretty heated too. I guess I've had my share of firefights over this last year. I don't like them, but it happens.

I've found for me that the best position is to state what I believe as clearly as possible, then just let it drop. And always go back and check what you've said, to make sure it can't be taken a different way from what you meant to say.

How easy of you to say you were responding to a different post than the initial post that started the thread.
Perhaps you should have quoted what response you were responding to?
You , sir, were unclear as to what post you were responding to.
...
You DID NOT specify you were responding to a different post. Try quoting in your response to avoid confusion. But since you admit you would treat him this way regardless, it doesn't really matter, does it?
So I have to ask, are you a lawyer or something? There were more deductive loops in that response than I could follow, but hey, I like playing and recording music.

Goddam trolls, now I'm getting sucked in too!

With all the flamin goin on in this tread, im surpised that it got 5 stars... heh.

LOL :D :D

I wouldby the way be interested in how the c3 sounds compared to the C1.

P.S. How does one get work as a plant? I could use a second job to get me some more income arround here.

I hope someone from one of the big companies realize how valuable I could be to sales to this bbs.

well, it only got 3 stars. I am suprised it got that though - considering it has nothing to do with microphones. Maybe its one of those things the mod thought people should read, to better themselves or something.

I just watched remember the titans - lets come together brothers!

You can vote on the rating yourself under "Rate This Thread" at the bottom of the screen.

Wasn't this thread about the C-3...where did all the personalities come from????

Its down to two now... do I hear a one? one anyone? one star?

STOP POSTING IN THIS FUCKING THREAD!!!! I know I'm doing it right now, but PLZ stop the "oh this is still 2 stars" meaningless posts.. Let us work for a GOOD Mic-Forum!!!

Bah.. sucks to be drunk....

Anyone who posts after me is a drugdealing pedophiliac.

Shoot Spectoar, I think you'd make a damn fine moderator
yourself! Welcome to the bbs and now that you've gotten
your hazing let us know how that C3 behaves.

Cyan, all the posts I've read from you in the past indicate you're
a good guy. Even I(!) have said a couple of things to several
members where I felt compelled to apologize later.
You don't need me to give you the pregnant implication of my point, this is meant out of respect for you actually.

IMHO if we must bricker over minor points, let's do it in the CAVE!

Meshuggah, that'll teach me to puzzle over my previous post before
adding it! (didn't have the chance to read yours first)

??????????

Did dude like the mic or not? Ups-downs, Ins-outs? Anything on the mic? Spent like an hour reading all the hoopla on this thread, whats the f*&&^ing outcome of the MIC?
