Re: OK! That's IT!!!!!

Don't make me quote Rodney King. I don't go for that happy shit and just to prove it, I'm flashing my nuts at you....Yeah, BBS boy....YOU!

too late, i quoted him on this first freakin page of this thread...

...consequently, noone listened anyways :(

Hmmmm....

CarmenC inexplicably wrote;

Because...Brain Trust...the thread at that point had developed into one poster asking how a newbie could possibly know the history of a particular topic. That is why I quoted the poster and recommended using the search engine, very simple, very civil. All the negative and vulgar posts available and you chose to pull my recommedation to use the search?

CarmenC, are you trying to piss me off? Pulling my quote out of context is low sir, and it gives me great insight into your personality. You have one chance to explain and show me that you are not a complete moron.

I dunno, personally i think hearing people trash people says a lot about how credible either of their opinions may be. I guess a lot of people say "lets have a fun and friendly and informative board!", but I think if that were totally the case people would be dissapointed.

It is certainly humorous to read a good flame war now and then - and honestly i dont see them going on too often.

I guess I like the get to know the people on this board...not just their recording opinions...becuase in the end that helps me evaluate who to trust. I just like things the way they are - personally I try not to insult anyone (don't know that much)...but I don't see a need to mail sysops about "injustice on the board". I look at it as a free speech society..i think thats what it should be. The really jerky people will weed themselves out eventually.

As far as alan hyatt...I think he's a good guy, sure the SP posts sound weird from newbies - BUT WHO WOULD BUY A MIC BECUASE OF A POST LIKE THAT? the thought of buying an SP mic without really testing it out is as silly to me as making a deposit on an RNMP - what if it sucks?

-Wes

P.S - now flame me for my lack of sensitivity and board etiquite ;)

But what *really* matters is how did Gidge get that title of alanhyatfanclubpres? What after you get 4500 posts you get to pick your own or something? i want, i want! :)

do tell gidge.

You know I use to think this place was a pretty great resource. It seems to be a place where if you don't subscribe to a particular type of thought process you get hammered!

Look, we all have our opinions on what gear is good and bad. Who's spamming and who is not. How do you know who is spamming? I posted here the other day with a legitamet question reguarding Studio Projects and got accused of being a plant myself.

This place has a negative feeling to it. I wonder how many newbies have lurked and been scared off because of all this type of thing!

Someone said in this thread that number of posts don't mean anything. I tend to agree. While it may indicate that you've hung around here alot it doesn't mean you are the authority or the spam police. You can usually tell who is experienced on a BBS. They usually give good advice or recomendations. I have recieved this treatment from some on this site. i.e. Blue Bear and Harvey to name just a couple.

Anyway, guess alot of you will tell me to leave this BBS. I'm beggining to wonder if that not such a bad idea.

No offense to those decent members here at all! I have learned alot from this place but it's getting to the point where you wonder if a particular thread you have interest in is going to be a flame war!

this will be my last post on this thread as things have gotten waaaaaay to out of hand so here goes....

I HAVE HUGE BALLS!!!!

:)

heh..kidding. but really, am I the only one who finds (for example..this thread)...funny...but at the same time informative? Not that we've heard the posts/reviews of the mics yet from the guy who started this madness ;)

but...so far i have laughed a bit...and confirmed belief that cyanjag is a jaded and bitter old man (no offense..)

I think post count does matter, but not very much. If you've never posted before, we have no clue who you are, what you know, if you even exist. The internet is a pretty untrustworthly place to be, so I don't think that you should blame people for being a little skeptical. All that said, I would hate for someone to find a nice BBS like this one, and never come back because of a little bit of flamming. Sticks and stones may break your bones, but text can never hurt you ;)

In my experience - the definition of spam is posting a bunch of unwanted hype about a product in the hopes of swaying people into buying the product. If this is true, then Spectoar is a piss-poor spammer. All he said was the mike seemed to be solidly built and had a cool case and shock mount. He should have raved about how it was better than a Neumann and could make even the worst singer sound awsome.

On the other hand - if the definition of TROLL is a person who posts outrageous, intentionally inflamatory rhetoric with the sole intent of generating a lot of arguments - then I'd have to say that CyanJaguar is an excellent example.

And if the definition of Rude Asshole is a person completely lacking in common courtesy, social grace, or respect for others - CyanJaguar's picture should be in the dictionary.

I'm a newbie. Do I have nothing to offer to you guys? How sad.

So what do you think of the C3 anyway? Maybe you should start a new thread so we dont have to read all the crap.

Thats silly. No one ever said that unless someone has high post count, they are worthless. The only point is that if you haven't posted, we don't know you.

I don't know if you have anything to offer anyone or not. But I'm not going to assume that everything you say is the god's honest truth. And by that same token, I'm not going to assum that everything you say is a dirty lie. I'll read it, and see if other people far more knowlegable than me think that it is true.

Actually, Mr. DBX,
The above quote shows everyone your true personality.
This is how you greeted a person who is new to the board and was not looking for info, but wanted to give HIS opinion on a mic! And you call me a moron?
The above is not out of context, Brain Trust, because it's the entire message that's quoted. I just quoted the wrong message in my 1st response to you.
Sorry if that confused you, but you know what you said to him.
So, I'll say it again,
>The man is interested in giving HIS opinion on a mic, and I'm interested in hearing it. What the fuck has that got to do with the search engine?<
Still inexplicable to you, sir?
Thanx for the one chance, massa, to 'splain myself to you , oh oracle of wisdom.....
Please, after the way you and a few other people have treated this poor guy on this thread, I should care if you're pissed off???

Wes,
If I didn't get so pissed at the treatment this poor guy got, I would have tried to post what you just said, but I don't think I could have said it as well as you did!
I agree with every word you said.
Carmen:)

Nice try?

CarmenC, this was the post from Spectoar that prompted my response;

>Thanks charger, That makes sense. I must admit to being a bit taken aback by all this and as a 'newbie' it's probably a good idea to lay low, and I will. To prove I'm no secret agent man I will only post my c3 results if I think I got duped into buying a piece of shit, otherwise I'll let other folks wait for the mag reviews. What does 'getting flamed' mean? does it have any consequences? Is that what the little burning letter is all about and is there a place that explains the rules? I'm sure there is I just haven't looked. Jeez, I was all excited earlier, now I just feel trepidatious.<

A search would have answered all of these questions. I should have pointed him to the FAQ's as well. CarmenC you took my response and applied it to a post that I was not answering. That is taking my post out of context.

Now on to your B.S.

>Actually, Mr. DBX,
The above quote shows everyone your true personality.<

Yes it does. As do all of my posts.

>This is how you greeted a person who is new to the board and was not looking for info, but wanted to give HIS opinion on a mic! And you call me a moron?<

Yes it is, and yes I do. Question asked and question answered, both yours and his.

>The above is not out of context, Brain Trust, because it's the entire message that's quoted. I just quoted the wrong message in my 1st response to you.<

Nope, still out of context.

>Sorry if that confused you, but you know what you said to him.<

I am not confused, your position is absolutely crystal clear.

>So, I'll say it again,
The man is interested in giving HIS opinion on a mic, and I'm interested in hearing it. What the fuck has that got to do with the search engine?<

Again, my response was to a different post, who is confused?

>Still inexplicable to you, sir?
Thanx for the one chance, massa, to 'splain myself to you , oh oracle of wisdom.....<

Yes, still inexplicable, and yes, your chance is gone. It's funny, this is exactly how I thought you would reply. I was kind of hoping I would be wrong...Oh well.

>Please, after the way you and a few other people have treated this poor guy on this thread, I should care if you're pissed off???<

I treated him poorly because I recommended a search? I think not.

Tom,

I find it entertaining that you're actually entertaining CarmenC's comments. ;) By now I think everyone can tell who was quoted out of context and who is getting riled up and trying to cover their ass for misquoting someone out of context. :)

Damn. I just bumped this sillly thread back to the top.

Cheers to everyone,
Matt

Bullshit.
How easy of you to say you were responding to a different post than the initial post that started the thread.
Perhaps you should have quoted what response you were responding to?
You , sir, were unclear as to what post you were responding to. And you still say that that is how you would greet a new person who wants to give HIS opinion? When someone offers their opinion on something, and you send them to the search engine, it's like telling them," get lost and educate yourself before posting your little opinion here". If they were asking a question, that would be different.
But in the FIRST POST OF THE THREAD, he was offering his opinion. You DID NOT specify you were responding to a different post. Try quoting in your response to avoid confusion. But since you admit you would treat him this way regardless, it doesn't really matter, does it?
