It's possible with all the talk and bantering about Alan and Cx's lately, someone checked it out and thought he had something useful to say about an often talked about topic......isn't it?
IF a guy's a plant....so what?!?! He'll either go away as quickly as he came or all of his posts will be about Cx's. You'll know soon enough. If he's legit....we sure don't look like a nice bunch of guys who love to discuss a shared passion, do we?
I'm not blasting anyone or chastizing here. I'm just saying that this whole Alan, Gidge, whoever, whatever thing is ridicuous. It's actually turning people on each other and forcing people to take sides in otherwise unimportant details.

Sorry RE, actually I am aware of that.
Where I moderated, we had;
1; Fairly strict community standards covering everything from people being a general nuisance, to abusive behaviour or worse.
2; A penalty table which governed our response.
3; The ability to effectively "gag", remove temporarily or totally ban people as the penalty table dictated.
Consequently I find the repeated patterns shown by some people here to be more than a little frustrating.
Where I moderated, we had;

I've taken the liberal approach and decided I'm not gonna babysit. I DO step-in and try to restore some level headedness with what I think as a participany and NOT as a "moderator". If that doesn't work, I'll try the "it's ashame" approach; as it REALLY is! If that doesn't work, I try to veer some of the attention off the thread.
Plus, I have numberous times said I don't want to hear anorther accusation of Alan SPAMMING (when the accusations seem to be nearly every post) as I DON'T constitute it as SPAM. You disagree and my decision is not good enough for you, take it up with Dragon! I DON'T know how to stress THAT enough!!!
BUT, no matter what, I'm NOT going to "gag" ANYONE! And I'll CERTAINLY NOT ban ANYONE for ANYTHING other than SPAM.

I don't understand just what the fuck the problem is here.People are just too paranoid over what I see as a non-problem.
I don't think there are any "plants"here.I think that the whole idea is a result of a paranoid mind.In the unlikely event that there is a plant what fricking difference would it make.We are all big boys and girls here so we should still be able to make informed decisions so what would it matter.If someone were to spam an inferior product the truth would come out,as they say it all comes out in the wash.

Yep, agree again. I have said a similar thing during these "discussions" recently.......oddly enough, some people just don't "get it".
And I wasn't suggesting you "gag" or ban anyone, just stating that on my "moderating turf" action (maybe in the form of a private message) would have been taken to settle this down and convince people it wasn't in the best interests of the forums.

When you sign on as a member of many sites on the internet you effectively sign an agreement stating that you will abide by the rules of that site.............and should understand that if you ignore those rules then the site's admin., has the right to respond accordingly. With all due respect to Dragon, RE and others, this site is pretty relaxed with regard to what and how people post here. Unfortunately, in some cases the priveledge of being a member here is being repeatedly abused by a few apparently paraniod obsessives.
BTW, RE did make a decision on the Alan Hyatt-spam issue quite a long time ago.

I must have missed RE's decision on the Alan thing. If that is so, then I really can't understand why these attacks by some people on this board accusing Alan of spamming have continued for so long. This much I do remember..........Alan Hyatt was being accused of spamming (god, whats new), at the time by C7sus, who pushed things to the point where RE made his position clear.....and that was that Alan's posts didn't constitute spam.
That should have been the end of it, but obviously some people either weren't aware of that decision, have chosen to ignore that decision anyways or are just looking for someone "bigger" than themselves to jump on, possibly in the hope of improving their own self-esteem.
What I find amusing is that according to the last info I saw, known sales of C1 mics to HR forum members accounted for approx 0.04% of all C1 sales.........an absolutely staggering figure, considering all the alledged spamming that has taken place. If this is an indication of Alan's ability as a salesman then he should find a new occupation damned fast.

Gidge,I'm not here to bash you but do you actually own a C-1 and have you used one in various recording situations or are you merely recommending the C-1 based upon heresay and mp3 demo clips.If you own one it's great that your recommending a product that you feel is a great product for a great price otherwise, you've just proved how easy it is to recommend a product that you've never actually used and therefore have no basis for your endorsement.I rarely recommend products around here and if I do I'm certain that I have used them for a period of time before posting any recommendations.Gidge said:
