I just brought the Tascam DP-008 yesterday and I am blown away.

I still have the older tascam DP-01 which still works fine but this new one is very portable and looks real cool.

I think to my ears the new DP -008 sounds much cleaner then the DP-01.

I like the reverbs and EQ. The reverbs are defantly useable.

It taken me a while to read the manuel and fully work the horse but I can't wait to do some serious recording.

Hi Greyfox

How long have you had yours? I will be picking up a power supply for it soon.

My old Tascam had a 40GB had drive but I did find it can crash sometimes and is a bit noisey.

First time I have brought a multitrack which is solid state, no moving parts.

I think its a great technology and I am impressed of its size , the size of a notepad book and yet the sound quality is crystal clear.

My older one did have more effects but although the 008 has just a few reverbs and EQ I find them very good.

I was looking at getting the Boss BR600 but that one comes with a compact flash card which is hard to get & I hear that the manuel is massive & it can be quite complex to getyour head around .
I have had its very good quality wise and has more effects and even compression for the guitar settings.
Love the DP-008 and i am well pleased with the build quality.

I am in love with the DP-008, it's made recording enjoyable for me again! I was a 4-track addict back in the day, and I've always missed my old 424 (but not the tape hiss!). The DP-008 has thankfully gotten me away from the computer screen and back to playing again.

I made an old-school style track sheet to help me with my mixes, might be of some use to y'all....
