Jbl M712 Stereo Gating Compressor Limiter

I snagged one of these on ebay
JBL M712 STEREO GATING COMPRESSOR LIMITER
I got it for $36
I hope it's not a trot line weight since there was no pictures
They claimed it worked.
I have seen references of this being compared to a DBX 266
I have seen coments to this being likea Ureil or something not shure of that is.
I'm trying to build a mini studio don't have a compressor.
Mainly want it for the limiter.
I do have Lexicon MX200 with a compressor and don't know how good the comp works yet.
Does any of you old timers know about this JBL unit?

Good or not? Good but Obsolete maybe?
