Is this used system worth $1000?

The add described below is for sale locally on a "Craigslist" type site for just over $1K and I am wondering folks opinions. Obviously a set up like this brand new would be very expensive, but we are talking about a system that is about 6+ years old from what I can tell. Is it worth $1000? Mind you, I currently have an MBox 2 that appears to be fried and no dedicated PC/Mac for recording.

I think I saw the same add in Atlanta Craigslist. If you are not in atlanta, search Atl CL and confirm- I KNOW I read a very similar line about an upgrade to a big studio.

Frankly, I think it is NOT worth a grand.

I'm a long way from there. I kind of think the computer itself can't be worth more than a couple hundred being that old. Then you've got the Digirack 002 and the software. I can't see how it's more than about 800.

I think $1000 will buy you a lot of kit... strange that it doesn't state version of protools or licences? smells a bit fishy.

It's not a *bad* deal, but I wouldn't do it. You can pick up 002's for <$500, and there was only one generation of the G5 with pci-X slots. With no software versions listed, I'd pass.
