Well I bought it and I like it so....

Hey, you could live on some island like Australia and pay double!

You got a great axe at whatever price you paid. I wouldn't believe anything different.

what I've learned about GC is:

"name your price and walk the hell out if they don't play ball." Now, something crazy is obviously not possible (like half off), but I always get things knocked down by a hundred or so, you did alright.

The trick to G.A.S.ing is to not let the GAS throw your judgement. If your price can't be met, walk the heck out. I actually have walked out as I find they don't budge much on:

* Top-line Fenders
* Top-line Gibsons
* Top-line Music Mans

That is just my experience.

there ya go... from someone who CAN walk out IF they have to!!!!

And I don't see GC carrying custom shop stuff either... ya gotta wait 9 months for that! :eek:

so hows that strat soundin pat????
Its sounding good. I need to put some new strings on it though. I have heard that those fender bullet strings are good for keeping strats in tune when you use the vibrato bar. Is that true? Also does anybody else have tips to help make it stay in tune better when I use the vibrato bar?

back when i used a lot of vibrato on my strat, i REALLY liked the way the bullets sounded - i'm sure it's all in my head, but they just felt a little more ... solid i guess.

Congrats on the new guitar by the way man, that's a really good feeling :) as far as having it stay in tune ... make sure your strings have been broken in for a little while? not my strong suit...

After you depress and release the tremelo bar, is your G string sharp? A common cause for this sort of thing is friction at the headstock end. If it has a plastic nut replace it with bone or graphite. If it has a metal string T, replace it with a graphite or roller T.

I have done all that, plus I mix up some graphite with some teflon grease, and I put a little dot of it in each nut notch when I change strings. I get the guitar in tune first, then I lift each string from the nut and dab a little of this stuff in the notch with the point of a toothpick. It works. Changing brands of strings won't affect this problem much if at all.

I heard a huge difference in sound when changing my strings from the stock bullets to ghs boomers. The bullets definately have a different personality.
