You can make mono wav's, if only one mono track is selected. In fact, I'm sure I've done just that, in and out. So you can export every 840 track for mixing in a pc multitracker, including the v-tracks
I did an experiment with drum loops. A friend sent me an mp3 of some drumming, I cut it into phrases in Sonar, turned them into groove clips, arranged them as a backing track, adjusted tempo to suit and then exported as a stereo wav. This was then imported to the 840 media via the Br8 proggy and a song recorded to the drum track. Then exported back to the pc to be finished. All very cool I thought. What surprised me was that with the 840 tempo set the same as I used in Sonar, the bar/beats matched up perfectly.
Obviously, you could assemble as many elements into a backing track as you like from loops.
I do most work in Sonar now, but the Br8 program means the 840 is a very handy portable recorder for me and by no means obsolete.
