Does anybody who talked to him earlier about the equipment he had for sale on the thread below know if he is still selling this stuff, or if he's just away for a but?? I'm just curious if I should start looking elsewhere for the Behringer 802 that he was gonna sell me. Thanks .......BJ

I'm waiting for some response also.

I am in the middle of buying the tascam 424 from him.

He's confirmed that he recieved the money and appologized for not being able to find a box to ship it over this past weekend but said he would be shipping it this past Monday and let me know the tracking number.

Its thursday and have not seen the unit or heard from him.
I assume he did not ship it as its only a two day point from him to me.

I am not too nervous yet. I just wish he'd clue me in on the status of our transaction.

We are all busy people, I'm sure, but a little communication saves everyone time and potentially stress.
I hope we both hear from him soon and that his non response is not do to any bad occurrence.

Ok, cool man....I actually haven't heard a thing from him in over a week not even regarding his address or where to send$$ The last I heard form him he asked me for my postal code here in Canada so he could get a shipping quote.......that was it about a week and a half ago........Kinda sucks I just ordered a condenser based on the fact that I'd have the power from the Behringer 802 I was getting off him here already. Ah well what can ya do. Take it easy............BJ

The good news.....

Recieved the Tascam 424 MKII from DA GOAT today.
Well packed. Manual. Not too dusty.

The bad news........DOES NOT WORK!!!!!

No power at all.....nada.....zip......zilch.!!!!!!

If you knew about this GOAT, then that is VERY uncool.

Notice, I am still giving GOAT the benefit of the doubt.

Now I am kicking myself for not asking for every detail SPECIFICALLY .......BUT!!!!!........come on, dude......if the thing does not even power up and you don't mention that then you are being decietful.

Not too happy right now!

GOAT, if you read this, get back too me.

Antz, BEWARE!

Quote....

"No longer into music production and need to get rid of some equipment. Everything in GOOD to EXCELLENT condition, and everything fairly new with exception of Tascam which I bought online a year ago. "

No power does NOT qualify as GOOD to EXCELLENT condition.

Benefit is waning.

Thanks for the heads up Mike......I decided to bail basically when I started this thread ....seems pretty unreliable after almost 2 weeks of no simply reply. Maybe thats whay the Tascam dropped from like $150 to $70 when his other stuff was dropping by like $10. Pretty Brutal man, I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. Good luck with getting things worked out, hopefully you manage. Takce Care......BJ

 Check and see if maybe the wall wort needs to be replaced. the volts and weather AC/DC is molded in the plastic of the back of the 424.
Radio Shack would have new wallworts/power supply.

Thanks, but there is no wall wart.

The transformer is built in.

The plug and strain relief appears to be in good condition.
The heads look like they have very little wear (of course you cant wear the tape heads out if you cant turn it on.)

I had previously owned the same unit for almost 3 years and travelled all over the place with it.

They are built like tanks and this one doesn't look abused.
......if it had power it would be in GOOD condition but......

I am going to look inside tonight but I'm not optomistic about it.
