I went to a pawn shop yesterday and found two Audix mics "new" in the box w/ all documentation - Sooooo,
the guy made me an offer I couldn't refuse (though I tried) - Anyway, I ended up with an OM-5, and an OM-3xb for $125. I know it wasn't a bad buy, but what the hell am I going to do with them now? They're great live vox mics, but I'm thinking I can use the OM-3xb on my snare for a "crisp" sound, and the the OM-5 on my Hammond organ's Leslie - any thoughts on this? I needed a few more dynamic mics laying around anyway, right?

Wow, that sounds like a very good buy. Let us know your results with the OM's on those instruments. BTW, has anyone ever tried an Audix OM on a guitar amp? If so what do you think?

The great thing about the audix mics is their feedback rejection. the sound isn't truely amazing but I would use them in place of a sm58 on vox any day.

Hell yeah. We rented an OM-6 last summer, it kicked ass on vocals. One of the best things you can do with that OM-5 is MAIL IT TO ME.

:D
