yeah. garageband.com will guarantee you around 15 or so plays.... but they'll be mostly musicians trolling through other music so they can upload themselves...

Christopher, do you push the link to Soundclick more than the link to the others? I was wondering if from your own site all the music hosting sites you use are given a fair crack of the whip, or is the more prominent link to Soundclick for example? Just curious.

Well, I don't really "push" any of the sites currently. I haven't been gigging that much (concentrating on a new CD), so I haven't really told anyone to go to any particular site, including my own, and I'm currently doing very little 'net promotion. I'm seeing way more traffic on my Soundclick site than on my OWN site, actually.

The non-flash version of my site currently points to NoWhereRadio.com until I get the deep links up and working.

As far as MP3.com, for a long time they were to only MP3 site I used. I used to push that hell out of it. I linked there from my site, I bought into the bullshit "promo auctions," I advertised...I just think people don't care much for MP3.com. Now that Vivendi owns them, there's no room for us indies there anymore.

NoWhereRadio is really cool, I just wish more people knew about it, general-public-wise.

Overall, I think the best strategy is to post your music on ALL the sites (all that are free anyway):

MP3.com
NoWhereRadio.com
Soundclick.com
Cornerband.com
IUMA.com
MusicianMP3.com
dMusic.com

Most importantly, if you wanna be on the search engines and have people actually FIND your music, submit your webpage to DMOZ.org!

NoWhere

At NoWhereRadio you can usually get a few freebie hits just because your song is in the spotlight on the homepage for a few hours until it's bumped off... nice feature!

MP3.com confusion

So that's it then? MP3.COM is no more? Or is this new service just MP3.COM rebadged? Anyone any info?
What's the new deal? I know I could check out the site, but I'm a lazy sod!

It might be rebadged under Cnet but if you had any songs on there, they will be cleaned off before doors reopen.

Well, at least its a way of cleaning out stuff and starting again I guess. MP3's reputation wasn't much these days. Wonder what their new submission policy will be?
