I need someone who knows about accoustics

because I don't know anything!

So this is the way my room is set up

As you can see, I do not have a very open wall in the back of me. I want to hang accousical slabs of egg cartons, but the wall is blocked. Would it work if I suspended the slabs, level with the monitors, without being up against the wall, like shown in the picture? Please help me know what my best options are. Thanks a lot!

I don't know much about acoustics, but I do know that egg cartons will do you absolutly nothing.

egg cartons = bad idea.

people say many things. many people say silly things. even more people say things even when they dont know what theyre talking about.

Instead of throwing up egg cartons on the walls, look into rigid fiberglass or at least acoustical foam for that matter.

Egg cartons serve only two purposes...holding eggs and serving as fire starting material (aka kindling).
