Howdy folks, I need a new soundcard. My existing sound card is only ASIO 1.0 and lags (SB Live!) This is what I'm looking for, any suggestions?
1. ASIO 2.0
2. Typical Line in and Audio out
3. A joystick looking midi port thing (my keyboard lags when trying to play different softsynths live, I use a midi adapter thing that works through my sound card, a USB to midi thing would cost more money on top of the sound card and I'm not sure if it'll be ASIO 2.0 or low latency

4. My solution can't be just to buy a USB to MIDI adpater thing becasue I need ASIO 2.0 to use Guitar Rig thorugh the line in for live guitar effects.
The cheapest thing I could find was a Sound Blaster Audigy2 (~$50) but it doesn't have a midi joystick port, so I wouldn't know what to do for my keyboard. I've heard ranom things about how some people in recording don't like sound blasters. I wonder what else I could get that's at or below $80 with asio 2.0 and a midi port? probably nothing, I would apreciate any ideas or anything thank you
Maybe there's somethign good external firewire hardware too, even if it's more pricey i might want to save up for it. But I'm broke, I just want to focus on the music instead of being a sponsor for all this hardware I've been spending money on, so getting by on the least possible is my best option at the moment.
Or is that midi lag caused by my soundcard itself trying to process the sounds I make, therefore I should be able to use my midi adapter with my on-board midi on my computer case and get low latency?
