I miss my old atm63

I had to move into an apartment last year, and being the idiot I am, I sold a lot of my mics (can't mic up an amp in an apartment after all). Most of them were easily replaceable, but I can't find these anywhere. Almost every mention I see of the atm63 actually turns out to be the atm63he. I see atm63he all over the internet, but looking at the specs I can't imagine it sounding similar (and in my experience, when a company changes a product, adds a couple letters to the end of the name and calls it "better", it very rarely is). If anybody knows how the two compare, I'll gladly listen to what you have to say about them. Or any suggestions for something similar?? Or just tell me I'm crazy for liking those...maybe then I'd feel better about just trying to find something new.

The 'HE' stands for 'hi energy' and is simply a designation for neodymium magnets.

If you dont like better upper mids and tighter low-end then you certainly wont like the newer models.

Thanks for the reply. On a whim I e-mailed the guy I sold my mics to... Don't know him personally, but happened to still have his contact info. Sold him 4 atm63s, today bought back 3 of them...still look as good as the day I last saw them. (could pass as new)

I'll probably pick up an HE one as well...it's not that I'm opposed to new things, but with these being my current favorite close guitar mics, I'd like to be able to A/B them with others rather than trying to go on how I remember them sounding. Thanks again.
