I was wondering, i record in to protools LE with digi 001 and i got some pretty good plug ins. I also have good external preamps, compressors, a patch bay, and a drum trigger moudul that i use for click track, all on my Rack mount. I got plenty of space on the rack mount so can anybody suggest some gear that i could get to make better recording and such. I know that its not all in the gear but im just curios to some of the equipment out there.

Yo' wyr, not to demean you or anything but simply having additional space in your rack is not a good reason to go out and buy more outboard gear unless your'e a certified GEAR ADDICT!!. You're working with a nice set-up now with PT & Digi.
But if you insist on filling that open space in your rack, take a look at some outboard pre's. There's wide selection of pre-amps suitable and capable of excellent performance in most price ranges!
My suggestion would be to invest ina hi-quality mic or a monitors
if you don't have any! it's your call!

Yeah man having space alone is a lame-ass reason to buy gear.

Do it for the L.E.D.s and knobbies.:D

How about a rack synth?

shhh... my girlfriend might hear you say that

Thanx

Thanks for that insanly unhelpful information. I know its a lame excuse, thats not the reason i asked the question and i was not not going to instantly buy what ever you suggeted to me.

Im not upset i was just kidding, but still i would like to know. I have some nice mics and really nice mountiters. What exactly would i use a rack synth for? And whats with balanced cords whats the use for them and whats balanced gear?
