Hi I have a problem when I connect my universal audio solo 610 to the analog inputs of the digidesign 002.

This is the way i do it:

1.- conect a mic with cable XLR to the preamp ( mic is a condenser and have the 48v phanton power of the preamp on)
2.- conect a cable XLR/ TRS from the preamp to the 002
3. I set volume and gain up and I can record but the signal is to low doesnt have volume

Then I just conect my premp to the inputs of the 002 that have preamp and sounds good but in that way I m mixing the sounds of the 2 preamps.

am I missing something else to get gain? Somebody have an idea of what is happening here?

thanks

Do you have the switch set for +4 or -10 on the Digi 002 line input? How does the level look on the channel input in the pro tools mixer?

I think the 610 is only +4 out, so I'm not sure that's the problem. What do you mean by "low levels"? If you're coming out of the 610 at 0dBVU, then that should translate to around -18dB average on the digital meters in your recording software. You'll have peaks around -12 maybe. That's not low...that's normal. Are you much lower than that?
