My snare track can't be heard on playback. What are the possible reasons?

I've clicked on about everything, taken it solo, muted un muted, etc.

I used an old template from a different song.... could something have been imported along with the track? I've taken off all automation....

Thanks,

OWz

What is the track output routed to? Could be an issue with that? Hmmm...

Bus 1, same as everything.

It shouldn't really matter, except I don't have a good centered stereo image of the snare from the OH's-- I was more concerned w/ the bass being even and getting agood image of the ride, hi hats and toms. I was going to balance it all out with the snare mic. (Jazz kit)

That's just weird. Have you tried opening up a new project to check that track? If you use the same template and have the same problem, although it seems unlikely, that would be the answer.

If you delete your snare track it will still save it in the audio pool, try doing that and recording something else on that track to see if it's working.

Well, I wound up just copying it to a new track. Odd. I did re-open the template and got the same behavior.
So guess I'm trashing that template!

Thanks for the advice...

Just out of curiosity (or just in case it happens to me or anyone else), was there anything you noticed when you opened up a new project with that template?

First thing that comes to mind is make sure it's not being input monitored. Often times I'll have it monitoring during record, then I go to playback and get nothing until I turn that off.

Nothing out of the ordinary. No messages or missing items from the pool, etc. etc.

And I really only ever use the most basic features of LE-- just recording 8 live tracks and overdubbing some hand percussion.

And I tried clicking the monitor button on and off-- one of the first things I tried. The new template was doing the same thing.

I forget which project I made the template from, so i can't go back and figure it out.

I'm not too worried, though. It's not like the "template" really had that much done to it, just inputs and track names, really.
