bigwillz24 - Yeah I'm a bit bemused by the phase thing. I can see how cancellation can occur between 2 mics, but beyond that I don't know how the L & R channels would get out of phase...plus my ears aren't good enough to detect that kind of subtlety

rayc - Thanks for the ears ray. Interesting that you don't like that stagger, I was trying to provide an 'alternate path' into the chorus...heh. Cheers ray!

true-eurt - Funny you say Alice Cooper, we were just jamming some of his old stuff on Thursday night. Yeah the bass and the vox are getting in each other's way, I'm finding it tough getting the levels right. Rich & magnetic! haha :D Hey thanks I'll take it, but I'm not sure it's applicable...lol..The drums are actually less treated with compression etc. than usual, I was going for a more honest sound. Sometimes honesty doesn't pay heh...Thanks for checking it out and commenting true

If you had gotten drilled for the last 3 months about phase issues during tracking and mixing like my teacher has been doing me you'd be able to hear it too. :o

It sticks out like a sore thumb to me now. I don't know if it's a good thing or bad.

Honestly I think it happens when you process stuff in a DAW. Now whenever I process anything in my DAW I go back and check the phase. In the protools rig at school 75 to 80% of the time when I processed something the wave came back inverted.

bigwilz - sorry i got so anal about the phase thing. there's a lot of stuff i don't know about so i'll take your word for it.

Bulls Hit - sorry for hijacking this thread.

bigwillz24 - Yeah they reckon it's good to mix to mono and see if anything disappears - indicates phasing. Have to start doing that...

faderbug - Hey no probs man. Beats the hell out of me too. Thanks for the interest :D

Interesting song with some cool effects. It's easy to clutter up a mix with all that stuff going on, but you held it together nicely. The bass is low, but thats okay. The manic vibe of this song lends itself to sounding a little bit different from the norm. Vocals sound really cool, and the guitars sound wicked. The sort of 'boxy' drums fit the song very well and sound right in place. Not my style of music, but I wasn't in a hurry for it to end either. So, great job! Enjoyed it. :)

I'm an old 70's hound, so everything sounds from the spectrum of Alice Cooper'sh/Buddy Mile'ish...to Yes'ish/Pink Floyd'ish, to Hendrix'ish/Santana'ish with a dash of Black Sabbath/Rolling Stone'ish to Elton John'ish/Leonard Skynard'ish...well you get the picture. ;) The 70's is the Eclectic era in music and the best for overall performance and talent run rampant in my opinion. Like a musical smorgash board....kick butt era !!

I have been listening and I like this so much. There is still something amiss with the drums. I can't put my ears on it yet.

Wow, I put on the phones and am hearing all kinds of defined sounds.

As I listen, the snare has more pop, even the axes are more defined...kick ass !!! Your vox sounds more upfront now too. (Yes, your voice is rich and magnetic :D )

Even the high-hat has more definition listening on the cans...I love your use of the hat on this. Did you by chance mix this on headphones or is my hearing screwed? Also the guitar with the tone I love at 2:03 is coming in at 1:58 now  ....I should go to bed now I think :D ...or...maybe the windows player is screwed up.

Okay, I take off the headphones and now the drum mix sounds fine.... You aren't messing with me are you ? :D :D :D :D I don't know !! Maybe the headphones gave me back my hearing.... ;)

I have been listening for the course of around 40 minutes now.

I am going to get to the bottom of the mystery though.
