I shared this track about 3 years ago when I finished recording it. It's an electric gtr instrumental. I wasn't super happy with the mix at the time but just let it ride. So I've asked an acquaintance to revisit it and put a new sheen on it. I'm already making notes in my head and will listen to it on a few different playback systems as time allows over the next couple of days. It's quite a bit different than the mix that I'd done. Sonically speaking - but also... I had the lead gtr washed in some verb and delay. This version is much drier.

I welcome all constructive feedback.

i like how the guitar sound has articulation to it.
nice and chewy.
i think i remember the original version of this,
but can't remember the mix...
but this one, i like the drier approach, it is more immediate, which matches the playing.

this would be easy to add vox.
you'd have to mute a few lead solo sections here and there, but then let those play thru when the vox would be silent.

good mix, like the snappy snare sound.

On my external computer speakers (Creative), the mix works well. I usually listen with those since it is a more likely set of speakers than my monitors.

Thank you for the feedback - appreciated.

Thank you for giving this a listen. Popmann remixed this and sent it to me last night.

I'll consider adding some vocals. You mentioned that twice now:thumbs up:

Awesome! I love this, great soloing, catchy and tasty licks, strong main riff, tight drums, what's not to love?

I have pretty much the same sentiment.
Lemme add this, you got a lot of Rush influence going on there. :D

@Eric V Thanks! Glad you dig it. Thanks for listening.

@RFR - Thanks for listening and commenting - it's helpful to the cause. Re: the Rush comment - I think it's certainly true that we are what we eat. :-) On the occasions that I listen to stuff I played on from yesteryear I sometimes hear my influences in my own playing, it's true.

@GONZO-X - those guitar parts are all the SL amp from the Strymon Iridium. It's been a while - but I think I put a very light amount of OCD in front of the Strymon for the lead parts to give it a little more bite.
