hows does this sound?

i recored my brother and hes friend yeastureday....the guitar sounds like shit..its too bassy i think..but how are the drums? the drums are my concerned because i dont wanna hook up all the mics and re track the drums..but im not so happy with the drum sound tho..why cant i get that pro sound? do i need vintage warmer plugins or something? please help heres the link it has the the mix it self and it has the drum mix please help thanks!http://www.myspace.com/studioprojects

It does sound rough Mx.

Id say first of all that it would help to mic the bottom the snare along with the top. (dont forget to reverse the bottom's phase)

Also it would help to save up some cash and pick up some sennheiser 421's for the toms.

Also youre gonna need some better overhead mics, preferably a stereo pair.

Then of course theres the #1 factor "The Kit".

You need to dial that kit in so it sounds its best.

Good consistent drummer, good sounding kit, good mics, good room.

Those will get you a good recording, provided that you use some good micing technique.

Pre amps are somewhat important here too, but $$ dosent grow on trees so im not gonna go there.

Also, there is no plug-in that will save a sub=par recording.

It has to be good source material from the get go to be "more pro sounding".
