Hello HR forum. I'm using Cubase 5 and I record my guitar using an external FX board (POD X3 Live) via USB.

I have the external board selected under "Devices - Device Configuration - VST Audio Device". The sound comes out from the headphones that I have connected to the same FX board.

Now, I'd like to hear the mix every now and then through my speakers, because as you know it's not the same.. But when I go to "Control Room", I only got to select the 2 outputs of the FX pedalboard (this is, the headphones that are already connected). But no speakers whatsoever.

What can I do to be able to select my 2.1 system? Thank you in advance :)

So the podx3 live is your interface in this instance.

Which means your speakers have to be connected to the pod in order for it to work.

How can I do this? It's a 2.1 system and it's connected to the common green port of my computer. Where should I connect it?

Stereo splitter on the cheap, a purchase of the monitors on the expensive side.

And the absolute cheapest CHEAPEST way (cause its' free) is to plug them into the headphone port on the x3 when you aren't using your headphones.

I'm assuming this is your standard 1/8" TRS kind of deal so I would start with a 1/8"-->1/4" adapter (like what's used for headphones) then throw that into one of these:

Then plug those 2 ends into the live outputs.

I'm assuming your connections are like I described.
