How to get single coil hum out of track?

Using my strat for a country sound and I'd love to notch out the single coil hum to keep the noise on the tracks down. Thanks for the help, Frank Military
 
Use a gate. Some DAW software lets you put in a gate after you track the part.
 
Use a parametric EQ and cut the offending frequency. It should be pretty low (50-80Hz) and won't affect your tone much to get rid of it.

You can usually get it down to an acceptable level by swiveling around a bit in relation to the amp. Of course, this only works if you do it before you lay down the track. Just something to consider before recording next time.
 
Or you could leave it in. The Edge did it in Vertigo at the end.
