How many busses?

Forgive me if I get some terminology wrong here. I am very interested in buying a Soundcraft M12 mixer. I like all the direct outs for recording.
However, I also like the idea of busses for live work. If I have this correct, busses allow you to group channels so that a single fader or knob can adjust the levels of all of them. Is this feature available on the Soundcraft M12? I had also been looking at the Mackie ONYX 1642, but the website says it only has 2 busses. I am looking for 4 or more.

No the M12 does not have busses or groups. It does have 4, 8, or 12 mono inputs, 4 stereo inputs (for keyboards, drum machines, etc) and 4 stereo returns (for FX units such as reverbs, delays, etc).
The Spirit FX16 is a 4 buss board...
